BAM! – Photos, memories, smiles and an idea for the future

lunedì, 17 Luglio, 2023

It doesn’t matter how, in what trim, in what wind, on what bike.
The only thing that matters is sharing the road with 3 friends.

In the end I remain the smile you have.

Recognizing each other in the differences, seeing each other in the differences, being the sum of our somewhat ramshackle lives. And sleeping together under the same sky.

Whatever our story, we keep chasing love.
Be it for a yellow inflatable, for a man, for our dog, for a nonbinary, for a woman, for a flower.
Long live love.
And thank you: it was a dream

They say memories fade with time, but there are some things I don’t want to stop remembering.

Like the incredible experience I had two weeks ago at BAM-something I’ve never experienced before.

BAM has been called the Woodstock of bicycles, and let me tell you, it really lived up to that reputation. From the moment I arrived, the air was filled with excitement and the unmistakable sound of bicycle chains. Cyclists from all over Europe gathered in one place, united by their love of cycling and exploration.

Remember when I used to talk about the sense of freedom and sharing I felt when I was on a bicycle? Here it is. BAM took that feeling to a whole new level. The event was a celebration of all things bicycle away from performance. There were workshops where I learned new things about bicycle maintenance and repair, and seminars that covered topics like sustainable travel and bicycle culture. And then some kind of trade show with lots of interesting brands and products, and music, food, and interviews with people who had amazing adventures and then came off the stage and played a game of table soccer with us.

In short, BAM is not (just) a gathering of bike fanatics. It is the bonding I have created with fellow travelers. It is the meeting with people from all walks of life, from different cultures and backgrounds, with whom we shared stories over a beer, sang songs and laughed until our stomachs hurt.

But I think the real highlight of BAM was the shared road to the gathering. Groups of pedalers started from all over Europe, all kinds of people joining along the way… There is something indescribably special about pedaling with a community of like-minded people who share the same joy and sense of adventure.

And it is along the way I hoped to meet you again. It is in the midst of those smiles that I looked for yours again.

I hope you are happy and that life is treating you well. If you ever feel like seeing me again you know where to find me. Riding my old bike, pedaling slowly without a destination, or at BAM 2024.

💛

So many of you are already asking us.
For now, we don’t know for sure,
but we can anticipate two things:
☝ 1. the BAM will probably be in the same days, early June 2024
✌ 2. next year, to celebrate 10 years of BAM!
(incredible, if we think back to the first edition, in Livigno),
the BAM! Campfire could also return 🏕
in a very special place.

So stick around, write us your stories,
send us your ideas.

See you on the road

❤️

Have a safe trip
