lunedì, 4 Giugno, 2018

Great success for the fourth edition of BAM!,
European meeting of bicycle travelers.
In Mantua more than 5,000 visitors in 3 days.
Arrivals from all over Italy, from France and Germany.

Once again BAM!, the European meeting of bicycle travelers, has attracted enthusiasts from all over Italy
and abroad.
In 3 days over 5,000 people visited the village of BAM! in Mantua until Sunday 20th of May.
The colorful “caravan” of travelers, many arrived pedaling, even from afar, crowded the camping area of
Campo Canoa, where more than 400 tents were placed and about 600 people slept.
Concerts, rides to discover the area, workshops and meetings with great travelers such as Dino
Lanzaretti, Willy Mulonia, Alessandro Gallo, Sergio Borroni, Monica Nanetti, Bruna Boldrin, Annita
Casolo or Linda Ronzoni, have attracted fans at all hours and created an exciting and informal
atmosphere: many people have called it the “Woodstock of bicycles”
BAM! confirms once again a point of reference for all those who use the bicycle to travel, but also for
those who love the pace and the “point of view” of the world: there were in fact, other than travelers, also
families, children, former agonists, all united by the desire to share the same passion.
The number of foreigners has also increased, who arrived from France, Germany, Austria and Slovenia.
“Bam is a perfect event for our city and territory – said the mayor of Mantua, Mattia Palazzi -, it is
consistent with the policies we are creating on cycling and it is also able to enhance the beauties of
Mantua. This is why we asked the organizers to repeat it in Mantua for the next two years “.
BAM! has also become a space for discussion on cycle tourism and numerous institutional guests have
come to find ideas and share projects: cycle tourism is growing in Italy and Europe and we need ideas
and passion before infrastructures.
The expo area was also very crowded with brands such as Salsa, Surly, 3T, Specialized, Kask,
Girolibero, Genesis, Brompton and many others, including numerous artisans.
“We are excited about the success of BAM in Mantua – says the city councilman Iacopo Rebecchi:
thousands of cyclists have been able to know and appreciate our city and our territory and many local
people have approached the cycling world, we want to repeat this experience in the coming years to
make Mantua one of the European capitals of cycling tourism “
